Saudi Privatisation Forum
The glut in oil prices coupled with the tremendous strain on the Saudi infrastructure over the past two decades has meant that the current scenario requires the participation of the private sector to help keep the developmental goals on track. Major announcements of privatisation including those of Saudi Aramco, the National Grains and PIF are meant to fast track the privatisation process in the Kingdom, leading to a discussion around which models will work best given the unique situation of the development in the Kingdom. It is clear that national security goals would need to be aligned with private developmental goals to ensure King Salman reaps the most benefit from the process.
This marcusevans event “Saudi Privatisation Forum” will bring together accomplished speakers to analyse the pressing issues affecting privatisation framework development in the Kingdom. Case studies covering the entire spectrum of the privatisation framework will be looked at in the region along with burning issues such as the development of relevant legislations, alignment of public private sector goals, correct valuation of state infrastructure to be privatised as well as the use of PPP’s as an alternate form of privatisation framework for development. All issues will be viewed from the point of view of developing relevant models unique to the requirements of the Saudi government.
